Friction gas spring

Patent: NL2002252

Innovation: infinitely adjustable of (tilt) windows

The caravan and (pleasure) yachting industry requested an alternative to the conventional window arms for top-hung hinged windows. In the past, (caravan) windows were generally opened in two ways: either infinitely adjustable using a catch or by a ratchet arm. Both methods have disadvantages: the former requires one hand to hold the window in the correct position and a second hand to tighten the catch, while the latter requires the window to be opened all the way before it can be closed.

The ACP friction gas spring opens the window smoothly to any required position. The window is closed by simply pulling it in against the friction (without the need for unlocking or further opening).
